How Opingo uses your Google account
What you can connect
You can use Opingo without a Google account. If you connect one, Google's own sign-in on your phone gives Opingo your name and email address. Only if you turn on Auto-email and Google Sheet sync does Google ask for two more permissions.
The permissions
| Permission | What Opingo uses it for | What Opingo cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | To show which account is connected and to send from it | Access anything else in your account |
| Send email (gmail.send) | To send the intro email you wrote to the person on each card you save | Read, change or delete your emails |
| Drive files used with this app (drive.file) | To create the "Scanned Visiting Cards" spreadsheet and the "Opingo card photos" folder, and to add rows and card photos | Open, see or change any other file in your Drive |
Our promise about Google data
- Your Google data goes directly between your phone and Google. We run no servers that receive it.
- We never share it with anyone.
- We never use it for advertising.
- We never send it to any AI or machine-learning service, and never use it to train one.
- Opingo's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How to remove access
- In Opingo, go to Settings → Google account → Disconnect Google account. This cancels Opingo's permissions at Google and forgets the account on your phone.
- To check, go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Opingo if it is still listed.
- Your spreadsheet and photos stay in your Google Drive until you delete them there.
